Our Client is currently recruiting a Book Keeper.

Book Keeper Job Responsibilities

  • Purchase supplies and equipment as authorized by management
  • Monitor office supply levels and reorder as necessary
  • Tag and monitor fixed assets
  • Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
  • Negotiate all reasonable discounts on supplier invoices
    Pay any debt as it comes due for payment
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt Terms & Conditions
  • Issue invoices in a timely manner to customers
  • Collect sales taxes (VAT) from customers and remit them to KRA, and prepare all VAT/Other Returns and ensure timely submission Returns/payments
  • Ensure that all receivables are collected promptly
  • Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
  • Conduct Bank Reconciliations
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
  • Maintain the petty cash fund
  • Issue financial statements
  • Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit
  • Calculate and issue financial analysis of the financial statements
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts 20. Prepare for
  • discussion and approval the quarterly and annual budgets
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
    Process payroll in a timely manner Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
  • Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
  • Balance subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries
  • Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries
  • Balance general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries
  • Ensure and be responsible for compliance with KRA/Tax Authorities, NHIF, NSSF, VAT, and any and all other
  • Statutory requirements by studying requirements; ensuring adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Perform any other tasks as required by the Management
