Responsibilities

• Implementation of irrigation programs in the county;
• Implementation of all Environmental and Land development programmes at farm level;
• Promoting River Bank Protection, land use development, environmental management; soil and water management and agricultural mechanization in the ward;
• Promote water harvesting techniques for agricultural production.;
• Monitoring of environmental and land development projects and programmes in the ward;
• Collating and disseminating information on environment and land development;
• Undertaking mechanization extension activities;
• Undertake laying out soil conservation structures;
• Promoting Soil fertility management activities;
• Capacity building and backstopping on laying out of soil conservation structures, agro-forestry, and other land development activities;
• Participating in field days, exhibitions and shows;
• Compilation of periodic reports.

Qualifications

• Degree in one of the following areas; Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, Agricultural Economics and Environmental Studies, or their equivalent from a recognized institution in Kenya.
