Vocational Training Skills Director Job, County Government Jobs Kenya, 

Kitui County Public Service Board (CPSB) is a body corporate established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act, 2012 pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. Section 59 of the County Governments Act 2012 outlines the functions of the CPSB among them being “appoint persons to hold or act in offices of the County public service including in the Boards of cities and urban areas within the County and to confirm appointments”. Sections 45(1)(a) of the County Governments Act, 2012 further mandates the CPSB to competitively source and recommend qualified and experienced persons for nomination and appointment as County Chief Officers by the Governor.

Pursuant to the above constitutional and legal provisions, Kitui CPSB invites applications from qualified persons to be considered for the positions outlined below:

DIRECTOR-VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING JOB GROUP ‘CPSB 03’ (R) ONE

(1) POST

Terms of Service: Contract-Three Years (Renewable)

Qualifications

  • Be a citizen of Kenya;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, OR Bachelor’s degree in Arts or Science and a post graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized institution;
  • A Master’s degree in Education will be an added advantage;
  • Served in the grade of Deputy Director of Training and skills Development for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  • Certificate in Senior level leadership program lasting not less than 4 weeks from a recognized institution;
  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results; and
  • Be a registered member of a relevant professional body

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating initiation, formulation and implementation of policies for VTCs training’
  • Advising on implementation of VTCs curricular and co-curricular activities to maintain standard;
  • Overseeing assessment of upcoming VTCs capacity for registration as institutions and examination centers;
  • Strengthening strategic collaboration among stakeholders on revitalization, rehabilitation and promotion of VTCs training;
  • Ensuring resources are mobilized to support VTCs;
  • Coordinating management and disbursement of SVTCCG tuition scheme and grants;
  • Overseeing development and integration of information communication technology in VTC training;
  • Supporting innovative initiatives and business incubation in VTCs;
  • Undertaking research and consultancy on issues of VTCs training;
  • Initiating and facilitating development and management of VTCs information system;
  • Building capacity in VTCs by conducting regular human resource planning; and
  • Coordinating establishment of functional Boards of Governors to manage VTCs liaising with stakeholders on domestication of the design, drawings and bills of qualities for infrastructure

Salary Scale: The salary, allowances and other benefits attached to the above positions will be as determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
