We are looking for suitable candidates to fill the position of a Nurse.

Riara Springs Academy

The Role: Responsible for ensuring that the Riara Springs Academy Community Health Issues are taken care of.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat minor illnesses
  • Prepare boarding girls going outside the school for medical appointments as per established procedure.
  • Communicate referral cases to the principal and inform parents.
  • Administer prescribed drugs to students as per doctors instructions.
  • Responsible for students who are unwell and attend to student medical emergencies.
  • To ensure adequate supplies of essential drugs
  • To maintain accurate records of medical supplies, occurrences, well ensuring confidentiality as appropriate.
  • Administer first aid as appropriate.
  • Accompany children on educational trips.
  • Review medical information of students on admission and advice the management accordingly.
  • Advice management on contagious diseases and disease outbreaks.
  • Provide guidance to management on first aid and health issues.
  • Ensure safe keeping of medical supplies and their safe disposal.
  • Follow up and ensure compliance with special diet requests as well as allergy cases.
  • Generate timely reports and submit to the Principal.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Must be of high personal integrity and ethics.
  • Must have accuracy and keen attention to detail.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • A proven track record of high achievement.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A team player with the ability to establish understanding and rapport with colleagues.


  • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing with a minimum work experience of at least 3 years from a recognized institution;
  • Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya;
  • Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya;
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution;
