Description

Actively participate the in the development and implementing of the sales strategy/plan

in line with business goals.

* Responsible for cascading sales strategy/targets to all the members of the sales team

and relevant stakeholders and ensuring delivery of the same.

* Develop and implement appropriate market promotions.

* Ensure payment collections are made on time as per company policy.

* Lead the target setting for the sales department and proactively ensure that the

individual and group targets are monitored and met consistently.

* Ensure the team is knowledgeable about all products and can present, promote and sell

to prospective and existing customers, professionally and effectively.

* Drive a winning culture in the team.

* Ensure a market intelligence is actively shared within the team to actively promote sales

opportunities.

* Demonstrate great depth of knowledge and expertise, and act as the point of reference

for department.

* Develop policies and procedures for the department to meet company targets.

* Continuously review departmental procedures to ensure adherence to company

guidelines and recommend remedial measures.

* Ensure all financial approvals are according to the Company’s authority lines.

Customer relationship management

* Maintain high standards of customer service – through quality of engagement, prompt

and accurate quotations, timely delivery, invoicing and payment follow ups.

* Develop and maintain long lasting positive business partner and customer relationships.

* Promptly resolve any customer issues promptly and professionally ensuring the

company’s reputation is upheld at all times.

People Management

* Supervise and cultivate a culture of high performance and ownership within the

department.

* Actively participate in recruiting, SMART target setting, coaching and performance

monitoring of sales representatives, to achieve growth and sales targets.

* Ensure that all sales personnel have full knowledge of all products at all times,

understand the relevant selling points and benefits, and can communicate these

professionally and effectively to clients.

* Conduct fair and objective staff evaluations and address areas of improvement to continuously raise individual and organisational capabilities. * Coach and manage the performance of the sales team. * Ensure that critical roles are identified, and substitutes are available and adequately trained to maintain a smooth flow in operations at all times. Reporting * Maintain updated work plans for the team of all scheduled activities, visits and meetings, as well as records of all contacts with clients. * Present accurate, time phased sales, regular sales, revenue and expenses reports with realistic forecasts to the management team. * Keep abreast of current and accurate knowledge of the industry, competitor products and competitor activity and recommend any necessary tactical action. PREFERRED COMPETENCIES

* Advanced communication skills with a Degree in Sales and Marketing or business related equivalent.
4 years experience in a similar role/function.
